Free CDN checker

Find the CDN in front of any website

Enter a domain to see whether Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, Amazon CloudFront or another CDN answers for it. We read the response headers, follow the CNAME chain and look up who owns the IP address.

Try: discord.com · www.bbc.co.uk · shopify.com

How it works

How CDN detection works

A content delivery network (CDN) caches a site on servers around the world and answers visitors from the closest one. To do that, the CDN has to sit in the request path: DNS points the domain at the CDN, and the CDN adds its own headers to every response. Both leave signals that anyone can read.

When a CDN proxies the traffic, the origin server stays behind it. The IP address you resolve belongs to the CDN, so a plain IP lookup names Cloudflare or Fastly, not the company that runs the site. A full hosting check reads the platform signals too, and names the host when the site runs on a known platform such as Shopify or Vercel.

cf-ray
Cloudflare request ID, sent on every proxied response
x-amz-cf-id
Amazon CloudFront request ID
x-served-by
Fastly cache node that served the response
x-akamai-transformed
Akamai changed the response on the way
CNAME
Alias to a CDN host, such as edgekey.net for Akamai
ASN
Network that owns the IP address, such as AS13335
