Free domain age checker

Check the age and expiry date of any domain

Enter a domain to see when it was first registered, how old it is, when its registration expires and which registrar manages it. We read the dates live from the registry over RDAP or WHOIS.

How it works

How domain registration dates work

Every registered domain has a record at the registry of its top-level domain, such as Verisign for .com. The record holds three dates: when the domain was created, when it last changed and when the current registration runs out. Registrars sell registrations of one to ten years, and most renew them automatically.

The creation date tells you how long a domain has existed in its current registration. Buyers check it before they purchase a domain, security teams check it because phishing sites often use domains registered days earlier, and owners check the expiry date so a lapsed renewal does not take their site and email offline.
